Coming up: World Cup in Ramsau am Dachstein (AUT)

In traditional Christmas style, the Viessmann FIS Nordic Combined World Cup returns to Ramsau am Dachstein (AUT) from 15th - 17th December.
After two competition weekends in Ruka (FIN) and Lillehammer (NOR), Ramsau will host the last events of the first period of the 2022/23 season.
After their Provisional Competition Rounds on Thursday, women and men will both compete in two Individual competitions on the WM-Schanze HS98 and 2.5 km cross-country loop on Friday and Saturday.
The WM-Schanze HS98 will give an added chance to strong cross-country skiers to challenge the Norwegian World Cup leaders Jarl Magnus Riiber and Gyda Westvold Hansen. Last year, Germany’s Vinzenz Geiger placed second behind Riiber two times and proofed his strength in the Austrian venue, while his team mate Julian Schmid, who secured his maiden World Cup victory in Ruka, is also one to look out for this weekend.
Riiber's biggest challenge, meanwhile, comes from his own team with Jens Luraas Oftebro, who defeated the Overall World Cup leader in Lillehammer two weeks ago.
In the women's World Cup, Gyda Westvold Hansen has won both competitions of the season. The Norwegian convinces with her skiing strength and jumping performance, to which only her teammate Ida Marie Hagen and the young German Nathalie Armbruster came close.
On home soil, the focus will also be on Austrian Lisa Hirner, who took third place in Lillehammer with a strong skiing performance, that can give her an advantage on Ramsau's difficult cross-country course.
