The 43nd edition of the traditional meeting of Nordic sports journalists took place in Kranjska Gora (SLO) last week.

The FIS Secretary General Michel Vion, as well as the FIS Race Directors of the four Nordic disciplines, Lasse Ottesen for Nordic Combined, Chika Yoshida and Sandro Pertile for Ski Jumping and Pierre Mignerey for Cross-Country as well as FIS Communications Director Jenny Wiedeke attended the meeting, gave updates and answered questions about the upcoming World Cup season.

The FIS representatives had also traveled to Slovenia to meet with the Organizing Committee and members of the Slovenian Ski Federation for the final inspection of the venue in Planica, ahead of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships starting in February 2023.

During the FIS day at the Forum Nordicum, Lasse Ottesen presented the new World Cup calendars to the journalists, as well as the long-term goals for Nordic Combined.
In the course of the necessary changes after the IOC decision last June, far-reaching equipment rule changes are planned, which will affect not only the suits but also the wax.

A support program for smaller nations and the introduction of a "Super Sprint" as a new competition format are also under discussion, to increase the diversity and attractiveness of the events.

A special highlight this season will be the premiere of the Mixed Team event as part of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Planica, taking place on 26th February 2023.

In addition, Media Coordinator Sophie Hargesheimer informed the media representatives present about the information options on the FIS website and and asked for their support in the coming season, to spread Nordic Combined topics globally.
