Mario Seidl is the winner of the men’s first Continental Cup event in Eisenerz (AUT).

The Austrian was already in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the HS109, after reaching the furthest distance of the day with 105 meters (145 pts).
He was therefore the first one, to start into the 10 km cross-country race in the afternoon.

Rank 2 after jumping went to German Jakob Lange with 101 meters and 129.8 points, who went into the course 1:01 min after Seidl.
Florian Kolb (102 m, 129.2 pts) placed third, 1:03 min behind his Austrian team mate.

Due to his big lead, Seidl ran a lonely race at the top, uncatchable for his pursuers. Meanwhile Austrian Fabio Obermeyr, who placed 9th after jumping, showed a strong catch-up race and worked his way up to the front of the pursuing group.
While Seidl reached the finish line first, securing his 4th COC victory, Obermeyr (+46.2 sec) pulled a gap to his competitiors and came in second on home soil.
Jakob Lange (+55.1 sec) defended his podium position as third.

With a 9th place, COC leader Aleksander Skoglund from Norway lost valuable points in the Overall ranking and is now only 27 points ahead of Florian Kolb from Austria.
