COC: Home victory for Hirner in Eisenerz

Lisa Hirner claimed her first Continental Cup victory at her home competition in Eisenerz (AUT) on Sunday.

The Austrian was already in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the the HS109 in the morning. 
With the furthest jump of the day on 101 meters (123.2 pts) she took the lead and was the first one to start into the 5 km cross-country race in the afternoon.

Rank 2 after jumping went to Annalena Slamik with 100.5 meters and 117.7 points. She went into the course 22 seconds after her team mate. 
Saturdays’s winner Claudia Purker (95.5 m, 104.2 pts) completed the Austrian triple-lead and started the race 1:16 min behind Hirner.

The currently Overall World Cup 7th ran a lonely race at the front constantly increasing her lead and uncatchable for her pursuers, Slamik couldn’t keep her gap to the competition and was caught by Purker, who showed another strong skiing performance. 
Also, American Alexa Brabec, who placed 7th after jumping, 2:07 min behind, proofed her cross-country strength and worked her way up to the podium spots step by step.

While Hirner celebrated the first COC victory of her career in front of her home crowd, Purker secured also the second place for Austria, 1:27.7 min behind. 
Vice Junior World Champion Brabec (+1:38.9 min) placed third, while Overall COC leader Joanna Kil from Poland came in 5th and defended her green bib.
