The Viessmann FIS Nordic Combined World Cup returns to Ramsau am Dachstein (AUT) from 14th - 16th December, in traditional Christmas-manner.

After two competition weekends in Ruka (FIN) and Lillehammer (NOR), Ramsau will host the last events of the first period of the 2023/24 season.

After their Provisional Competition Rounds on Thursday, the women will compete in an Individual Gundersen and a Compact on the WM-Schanze HS98 and 2.5 km cross-country loop on Friday and Saturday, while the men are going to participate in a Mass Start on Friday and a Compact competition on Saturday.

The smaller hill will give an added chance to strong cross-country skiers to challenge the Norwegian World Cup leaders Jarl Magnus Riiber and Gyda Westvold Hansen.
Last year, Germany’s Vinzenz Geiger raced to an impressive victory ahead of Johannes Lamparter and Riiber, proofing his strength in the Austrian venue once again.

Meanwhile, Riiber's biggest challenge, comes from his own team with Jens Luraas Oftebro and Joergen Graabak who put some pressure the Overall World Cup leader in Lillehammer two weeks ago.
With a second position in the Overall ranking, last year’s World Cup champion Johannes Lamparter, is another strong candidate for the podium on home soil.

In the women's World Cup, Gyda Westvold Hansen has won both competitions of the season. The Norwegian convinces with her skiing strength and jumping performance, to which only her teammates Ida Marie Hagen and Mari Leinan Lund came close in Lillehammer.

On home soil, the focus will also be on Austrian Lisa Hirner, who took second place in Ramsau last year and is currently placed 6th in the Overall ranking.
Another athlete to look out for is Minja Korhonen from Finland, who reached her best World Cup results in Lillehammer and won both Continental Cup competitions there, last weekend.
