Johannes Lamparter secured the victory of the Mass Start in Ramsau (AUT) today.

The second Mass Start of this FIS Nordic Combined World Cup season started with the traditional starting gun shot.
All 52 athletes, led by the top 3 of the Overall World Cup, went together in the 10 km course in Ramsau (AUT). Due to the short time gaps, there were continuous changes in lead at the front of the field.

German Vinzenz Geiger lead the large group after 2.5 km, followed by Oftebro and Overall World Cup leader Jarl Magnus Riiber.

Soon Johannes Lamparter from Austria took over the leading work until 3.6 km, before Geiger placed himself at the front again after 6.2 km and stayed there, until the last lap.
Due to the narrow course, overtaking was particularly difficult, so that Geiger, who’s known for his strong uphill sprints, couldn’t use his powers against the other competitiors and got stuck behind Graabak and his team colleague Manuel Faisst at the last climb.

Therefore, eight athletes turned into the stadium together. In a tight finish sprint, Oftebro beat Graabak (+0.4 sec) and Geiger (+1 sec). Johannes Lamparter (+1.1 sec) placed fourth, while Faisst (+1.5 sec) took fifth place close behind.

In snowfall and changing wind conditions, the Ski Jumping competition was a challenge for both the athletes and the jury.

With a jump on 87.5 meters (139.2 pts), Johannes Lamparter secured the victory on home soil ahead of Overall World Cup leader Jarl Magnus Riiber (86 m, 135.4 pts) and Manuel Faisst (89.5 m, 131.3 pts).

The competition was unfortunately marred by two crashes.
In addition to Yoshito Watabe, also Jens Luraas Oftebro couldn't stand his jump after landing and fell heavily.

The leader after the cross-country race, who was the last athlete going from the bar tonight, fell back to 29th place.
