Jenny Nowak is the winner of the women’s first ever FIS Nordic Combined competition in Chaux-Neuve (FRA), defeating high temperatures and humidity.

Svenja Würth was in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on La Côté Feuillée HS 118 this noon.

In bright sunshine the PCR winner jumped the furthest distance of the day with 107.5 meters (99.7 pts) and took the lead. Therefore, she was the first one to start into the 4 km roller ski race this afternoon.

Rank 2 after jumping went to German team mate Jenny Nowak, who reached 103 meters (99.5 pts) and went into the course only 1 second after her team mate.

Minja Korhonen (105.5 mts, 95.5 pts) placed third, 17 seconds behind the leader.

With 11 athletes going into the course within the first minute, a tough fight for the victory took place on Chaux-Neuve’s city course.

Nowak passed Würth in the first hundred meters of the race and was able to extend the lead over her teammate to 17.7 seconds after 2km.

Meanwhile, Ema Volavsek closed the gap to Minja Korhonen, who went into the final round together.

Würth couldn't do anything against the high pace of her pursuers and fell back, while Nowak celebrated his second Summer Grand Prix victory of 2024.

With her victory, the German regained the yellow bib as overall leader, while Volavsek (+20.5 sec) defended second place against Korhonen (+26.6 sec).
