COC: Armbruster leads German podium sweep

The Ski Jumping portion of the competition, held on the Langenwaldschanze HS100, saw Germany’s Trine Goepfert take the lead with a 91.5-meter jump, earning her 113.4 points. Anne Haeckel followed closely with a jump of 90.5 meters, totaling 111.6 points, placing her six seconds behind her teammate in the starting order for the 5 km cross-country race.
Ukraine’s Karina Kozlova recorded the longest jump of the day at 92 meters, earning 104 points for third place after jumping. However, Kozlova did not start the cross-country segment, leaving the door open for others to capitalize on the standings.
Nathalie Armbruster, starting from fifth place after a solid jumping performance, showcased her strength and familiarity with the Schonach course. Drawing on experience from competing in last weekend’s World Cup on the same track, where she earned a podium finish, Armbruster stormed through the field with an impressive cross-country race. Her effort secured her the victory, crossing the finish line well ahead of the competition.
Trine Goepfert held onto her second-place position, finishing 45.3 seconds behind Armbruster to secure a strong podium result. Meanwhile, Marie Naehring staged a remarkable comeback, climbing from 14th place after jumping to claim third. Her determined performance completed a German podium sweep, finishing 52.2 seconds behind the winner.
