Kasper Moen Flatla and Espen Andersen, claimed victory for Norway in the men’s Team Sprint on the second day of the FIS Continental Cup in Eisenerz, Austria, on Saturday.

A new record of 27 teams from 13 nations competed in one jump and the sprint race afterwards.

Team Austria 1 took the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the HS109 hill, thanks to Andreas Gfrerer’s impressive 105.5-meter jump – the longest of the day – and Christian Deuschl’s solid 99-meter effort. Their combined total of 276.7 points gave Austria 1 an 18-second advantage going into the 2x 7.5km cross-country race.

Norway 1, with Espen Andersen (102.5 m) and Kasper Moen Flatla (100.5 m), secured second place after jumping, while Germany 1, represented by Christian Frank (91 m) and Jonathan Graebert (97.5 m), started the race 49 seconds behind in third place.

It was really fun today, so many teams on the course and we had someone to chase. It was a really good day.Kasper Moen Flatla (NOR), Winner

The cross-country race, run over a challenging 1.5km loop skied alternately five times by each athlete, saw an intense battle for the lead. Norway 1 showcased exceptional endurance and strategy, overtaking Austria 1 during the race to claim the victory.

Austria 1 fought hard but ultimately finished in second place, 15.1 seconds behind the Norwegians. Meanwhile, Norway 2, featuring Andreas Ottesen and Aleksander Skoglund, delivered an impressive comeback from eighth place after the Ski Jumping competition to claim third, 1:06.7 minutes behind the winners.

It is always brutal to go in the front and the groups are chasing you. It was hard from the start and the Austrians were hanging on for a long time, so I was a bit afraid I had to sprint in the end. Luckily Kasper got a few meters and I managed to do well with it. It was an interesting and fun race, with so many teams.Espen Andersen (NOR), Winner
