Nowak and Mühlethaler are Grand Prix champions

Jenny Nowak and Laurent Mühlethaler are the Overall winners of the FIS Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix 2024.

Nowak got the best possible start to this year's Grand Prix with an opening victory in Tschagguns (AUT).

The 22-year-old won the first Grand Prix event of her career at the Individual Gundersen, in which she presented her strong form on both the hill and the roller ski course.

The 2020 Junior World Champion was able to achieve another podium finish at the Night Race in Oberstdorf (GER).

Under the spotlight in front of thousands of spectators, Nowak came third in the women's large hill premiere behind Ida Marie Hagen from Norway and her German teammate Nathalie Armbruster in second place.

The demanding course in Chaux-Neuve (FRA) posed no problem for the Youth Olympic bronze medalist from Lausanne and Nowak took another victory, so that she started the final competition as the overall leader in the yellow bib.

A third place behind Nathalie Armbruster and Ema Volavsek was enough for the German to secure the overall title and win the first Grand Prix of her career.

FIS Summer Grand Prix Final Standings - Women

Laurent Mühlethaler started the summer with a 6th place at the Individual Gundersen in Tschagguns (AUT).

During the victory of Einar Luraas Oftebro from Norway, the Frenchman was able to get off to a solid start in the Grand Prix before continuing in the traditional Night Race in Oberstdorf (GER).

Mühlethaler reached 7th place, while German Johannes Rydzek took victory in front of his home crowd.

At the Summer Grand Prix premiere in Chaux-Neuve (FRA), Mühlethaler was able to demonstrate his performance on home soil and was cheered on by friends and family in the stadium. The 26-year-old achieved his first podium of the summer with a third place, while Rydzek won again ahead of fellow German Manuel Faisst.

The men's final competition had to be canceled the next day due to heavy rain. After the jumping, Mühlethaler was in a promising 4th place and would have had another chance for a podium finish.

Since only athletes who have taken part in all individual competitions of the Grand Prix can win the overall title, Mühlethaler prevailed against the competition with his consistently good performance and won the first Grand Prix of his career, ahead of his team mate Matteo Baud and Pascal Müller from Switzerland, who both also reached their best Grand Prix results.
