Oberstdorf: Hagen wins large hill premiere

Ida Marie Hagen is the winner of the women’s first ever FIS large hill competition at the FIS Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix in Oberstdorf (GER) today.

In the Individual Compact Ski Jumping competition, Svenja Würth reached 120.5 meters (110.1 pts) at the Schattenbergschanze HS137 and took the lead. Therefore, she was the first one to start into the 5 km Compact race in the evening.

Rank 2 after jumping went to Lisa Hirner from Austria, who also landed at 120.5 meters (109.8 pts) and went into the course only 6 seconds after Würth, due to the fixed starting times.

Her team mate Annalena Slamik reached the furthest distance of the day with 125 mts (106.2 pts) and placed third, 12 seconds behind the leader.

Ida Marie Hagen, known for her cross-country strength, showed another great performance on roller skis and reduced the distance to Würth to 4.4 seconds, already after 1.4 km.
She overtook the German on the second lap and grew her lead to 15.8 sec at the 3km mark.
Meanwhile, Nathalie Armbruster, who was 10thafter jumping, showed a string catch-up race and closed the gap to the pursuer group around Würth, Ema Volavsek, Jenny Nowak and Minja Korhonen.
Working together, the Germany Armbruster and Nowak pulled away from the group after 4.1 km and kept their positions until the finish line.

While Hagen secured the victory in front of thousands of spectators on the course and in the stadium, Armbruster (+10.8 sec) placed second, ahead of Nowak (+17.8 sec) as third.

With her victory, Hagen takes over the lead in the Overall ranking.
