Braving yet another day of frigid -17°C temperatures, Simen Tiller of Norway delivered an impressive performance to secure his second consecutive victory in the FIS Nordic Combined Continental Cup in Ruka. Tiller’s consistency and skill under the challenging conditions solidified his lead in the Overall Continental Cup rankings.

The competition began with Tiller once again showcasing his prowess on the Rukatunturi HS142 hill. The Norwegian soared to 131.5 meters, earning 164.1 points and taking the top spot in the Ski Jumping round. His commanding jump granted him the advantage of starting first in the 10 km Individual Gundersen race held later in the day.

Florian Kolb of Austria secured second place in the Ski Jumping round with a solid 130-meter jump, earning 162.2 points. He started the cross-country race just 8 seconds behind Tiller. Fellow Austrian Christian Deuschl placed third with a jump of 125.5 meters (155.1 points), beginning his race 36 seconds after the leader.

Even Leinan Lund from Norway recorded the furthest jump of the day at an impressive 137 meters, scoring 151.1 points. Despite his strong jump, Lund started the race in fourth, 52 seconds behind Tiller.

Today was even colder than yesterday, but I managed to keep warm during the race. Cross-Country is never easy, but I tried to open with a good pace, float the whole way and it worked very well. Now I hope we will have a bit warmer Christmas at home in Norway than here in Ruka right now. Simen Tiller (NOR), winner

Tiller’s remarkable form continued into the 10 km cross-country race, where he dominated the course and left his competitors trailing. His strong pace and endurance ensured a decisive victory and extended his lead in the Overall Continental Cup standings.

Florian Kolb maintained his position, finishing second, 43.2 seconds behind Tiller. Germany’s Jakob Lange delivered the most dramatic performance of the day, charging through the field from 14th place after the Ski Jumping round to claim third, finishing 1:14.5 minutes behind the leader.

Norway Takes Nations Cup Lead

With back-to-back victories from Tiller, Norway leads the Nations Cup ranking, setting a high standard for the season ahead. The team’s strength and depth were further demonstrated by Even Leinan Lund’s notable jumping performance.
