4-Hills-Tournament without Gregor Schlierenzauer

Gregor Schlierenzauer will not participate in the upcoming 4-Hills-Tournament, which starts on December 29th in Oberstdorf.

The Austrian, who was the outstanding athlete in the winter seasons from 2006/07 to 2012/13, will not be in a good shape in time for this season's Tournament.

Schlierenzauer claimed 53 World Cup wins, he won the 4-Hills-Tournament twice (2011/12 and 2012/13. This winter he was only able to score World Cup points once when he was 12th in Ruka. He took his last win in the World Cup on December 6th, 2014 in Lillehammer (NOR).

The main focus for the Tyrolean are now the Nordic World Ski Championships in Seefeld (AUT). Gregor Schlierenzauer wants to be in top shape again for this event late February.

Who will represent Austria in the 4-Hills opener in Oberstdorf on December 29th/30th will be decided after the Continental Cup in Engelberg (SUI) on December 27th/28th.
Manuel Fettner, Clemens Aigner, Philipp Aschenwald, Markus Schiffner, Ulrich Wohlgenannt, Thomas Hofer and Stefan Rainer will have the chance to earn one of the three remaining spots on the Austrian team. 
So far, head coach Andreas Felder has only named Stefan Kraft, Daniel Huber and Michael Hayboeck to the team for the 4-Hills-Tournament.
