Andreas Felder new head coach of Austrian men's Ski Jumping team

As the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) announced on Friday, former world-class ski jumper Andreas Felder will be the new head coach of the men's national team and, in this position, the successor of Heinz Kuttin, who resigned after the last season.

Andreas Felder, who has already held this job from 1995 to 1997 and was recently coaching the Austrian ladies team, will now be working together with the assistants Florian Schabereiter and Florian Liegl. It was not decided yet who will be the new head coach of the ladies national team.

"Andreas Felder as decades of experience as an athlete and as a coach and was very successful in both fields. With his expertise and his experience we are now well positioned, also for the upcoming World Championships at home, that will come with a lot of pressure", explains Mario Stecher, the new sports director for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined of the ÖSV.

"This offer came as a surprise for me, but I'm looking forward to the task. One of the main goals is to form a coaching staff in which everyone, from top to bottom, is pulling in the same direction. All in all a good job was done here over the past years and it's nice that we have a lot of good athletes in Austria", said Andreas Felder.

During his career as a ski jumper, the 56-year-old Tyrolean won a total of eight medals at World Championships and Olympic Games, among them gold (normal hill) at the World Championships 1987 and at the Ski Flying World Championships 1986. He also won the overall World Cup title 1990/91.
