Andreas Wellinger the best in the qualification in Oslo

Andreas Wellinger won the qualification for Sunday's individual World Cup competition on the Holmenkollen in Oslo. With this win he is now the first leader in the history of the Raw Air Tournament. A jump of 132.5 m earned him 140.5 points and the first place ahead of Slovenia's Peter Prevc (130.5 m / 135.9 points) and his teammate Richard Freitag (128 m / 131.8 points).
"It didn't go that well in training, but then I made some small changes and it worked really well in the qualification. This is a great start for me. In the team competition I'll try to show my best performance and I hope that we will be able to fight for the podium. Of course it's also about the Raw Air overall title", said Wellinger.
The outstanding team result for Germany was completed by Markus Eisenbichler. Eisenbichler landed on 128 m (130.0 points) and came in fourth, followed by double World Champion Stefan Kraft of Austria (126.5 m / 129.8 points). "I like the hill here in Oslo, it has always been a good hill for me. Usually it's a bit windy here on the Holmenkollen, but today it was great. Almost no wind, it was a perfect start. It's a long way until Vikersund and I hope that I can improve constantly, step by step", Eisenbichler said after the qualification.
An extremely strong performance was also shown by the Polish team. With Maciej Kot in sixth, Dawid Kubacki in seventh, Piotr Zyla in eighth and Kamil Stoch in eleventh, all four team World Champions finished in the Top 11 today.
The hosting team also had a good start of the Raw Air: Best Norwegian was Andreas Stjernen in 10th, Johann Forfang landed on a strong 12th place.
A total of eight athletes was disqualified today for using a suit which did not meet the rules, among them Norway's Anders Fannemel and Slovenia's Anze Lanisek.
With Saturday's team competition and the individual event on Sunday the next four of the 16 competitions jumps of the Raw Air Tour will be held in Oslo. The next stops are Lillehammer (qualification and individual competition), Trondheim (qualification and individual competition) and the final on the Ski Flying hill in Vikersund (qualification, team and individual competition).
The one, who scores the most points in all of these 16 individual jumps will be the first overall winner of the Raw Air Tournament.
