The newly crowned Junior World Champion Marius Lindvik also presented himself in a great shape in the first of two competitions of the Continental Cup weekend in Iron Mountain (USA).

The 19-year-old Norwegian jumped on 137 m in the first round on the Pine Mountain Ski Jump in Michigan and was second at half-time. He then secured his second win and the already seventh podium finish this season with 135.5 m in the final and 291.5 points.

Jakub Wolny of Poland was sixth in the first round with a jump of 130 m, he then had the longest jump of the second round with 138 m and moved up to second overall with 277.7 points.

Lindvik's teammate Halvor Egner Granerud finished third with his jumps of 134 m and 125 m and 268.7 points and stood on the podium in the first COC competition he took part in this winter.

Manuel Poppinger moved up from eighth to fourth in the second round and was the best Austrian, he was followed by the best jumper of the Slovenes, Anze Lanisek, in fifth.

Pius Paschke of Germany had the longest jump of the day with 141.5 m in the first round. With this performance, the 27-year-old was in the lead ahead of the two Norwegians Lindvik and Granerud after the first half of the competition but Paschke was not able to defend this position with a 122 m in the final. He came in sixth, close ahead of his teammate Andreas Wank.

The eighth place went to Stefan Huber of Austria, Nejc Dezman of Slovenia (9th) and Norway's Joachim Hauer (10th) completed the Top 10 on Saturday afternoon.

With this win, Marius Lindvik (656 points) is now also back in the lead of the overall ranking. Andreas Wank is second with 649 points, Nejc Dezman follows in third (631 points).
