COC: Clemens Aigner and Daniel Huber dominant

Clemens Aigner was the best ski jumper in the Continental Cup this weekend. The 24-year-old Austrian won both competitions in Rena, on Sunday the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) even celebrated a double victory.

With 146.5 m and 139.5 m the Tyrolean had the best jumps in both rounds and secured already his fourth win in 2017, the sixth in the COC overall, with his total of 283.4 points.

His teammate Daniel Huber was the only one, who could keep up with Clemens Aigner on Sunday. With 146 m and 138.5 m he jumped only half a meter and a meter shorter than the winner and came in second with 276.1 points.

Bor Pavlovcic of Slovenia, already on the podium in second on Saturday, was also one of the very best in the second competition on the HS 139 and finished third with 139 m and 128.5 m and 260.0 points.

For the Norwegians today's competition went a lot better than the one yesterday. Halvor Egner Granerud was again the best jumper of the hosts, but after his 12th place on Saturday he improved today and came in fourth.

Slovenia's Tilen Bartol, 12th after the first round with 131 m, jumped on 142 m in the final and was only the third athlete in this competition to land beyond the 140 m mark. With a total of 256.6 points he could move up to fifth.

Maximilian Steiner and Stefan Huber completed the great team result of the Austrians in sixth and seventh. Like on Saturday, when he finished fourth, Felix Hoffmann was again the best German. The 19-year-old of the club SWV Goldlauter was eighth this time.

Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng was the second Norwegian among the best 10 today in ninth, Jaka Hvala (10th) and Cene Prevc (11th) provided a successful end of this weekend for Slovenia.

In the overall ranking of the Continental Cup, the two Slovenes Nejc Dezman (852 points) and Miran Zupancic (847 points) lead close ahead of Clemens Aigner (831 points).

Next weekend the COC continues with two competitions in Zakopane (POL).
