COC-M: Halvor Egner Granerud wins in Iron Mountain

Also on day two of the Continental Cup in Iron Mountain (USA), the victory on the Pine Mountain Jump went to an athlete of Norway.
Halvor Egner Granerud was only second after the first round with a jump of 126.5 m. In the final, the 21-year-old then posted a great jump of 143 m and celebrated his first win this season. For the Norwegian, this was already the sixth victory in the COC and the second one in Iron Mountain, where he was successful already last year.
With 141.5 m, Anze Lanisek of Slovenia was in the lead after the first round on the HS 133, his second jump of 127 m and a total of 256.7 points earned him the second place overall.
Marius Lindvik, who won on Saturday ahead of Jakub Wolny and his teammate Granerud, had a fantastic jump on the record distance of 144 m in the first round, but he crashed right after the landing and so he was only 12th after the first half of the event. In the final round, the young Norwegian once again showed his skills, jumped on 139.5 m and moved up to third with 255.6 points.
Right behind the podium the two Germans Andreas Wank and David Siegel finished fourth and fifth. The sixth place today went to Slovenia's Nejc Dezman.
Manuel Poppinger jumped on 142 m in the first round and was en route to the podium in second behind Lanisek and ahead of Wank. With 125 m in the final, the Austrian lost some ground and came in seventh, followed by his two teammates Philipp Aschenwald and Stefan Huber, who tied for ninth with Joachim Hauer of Norway.
Marius Lindvik could extend his lead in the overall ranking with his third place on Sunday afternoon. With 716 points he now leads ahead of Andreas Wank (699 points) and Nejc Dezman (671 points).
The ski jumpers will now return to Europe, where two competitions will be held in Brotterode (GER) next weekend.
