COC-M: Marius Lindvik claims his first win

Norway's Marius Lindvik was the outstanding ski jumper in the first competition of the Continental Cup weekend in Titisee-Neustadt (GER) on Saturday afternoon.
The 19-year-old showed the by far longest jumps in both rounds on the Hochfirst-hill in the Black Forest with 138.5 m and 136 m and took a clear win with 263.5 points. For Marius Lindvik who was on the podium twice this season already, this was the first win of his career in the COC. "I'm happy that I could show such stable jumps today. My goal for Sunday is to have two good jumps again and of course it would be nice to stand on top of the podium again", said the winner.
The second place on the HS 142, where two World Cup competitions took place earlier this winter, went to Nejc Dezman of Slovenia, who jumped on 133 m and 131 m and scored a total of 244.9 points. "The hill in Neustadt was very well prepared, especially considering the weather conditions. It is remarkable that such a fair competition could be carried out today", said Nejc Dezman.
Vincent Descombes Sevoie of France, with 133 m fifth after the first round, finished third with his second jump of 130.5 m and 242.1 points. Youngster Jonathan Learoyd completed the great result of the French team in fourth, only 0.5 points behind his teammate. "I'm very happy about my podium finish. On Sunday I want to focus even more on my technique. Maybe I can do even better than", said Vincent Descombes Sevoie.
Joachim Hauer of Norway came in fifth, followed by Anze Lanisek of Slovenia and the Poles Przemyslaw Kantyka and Aleksander Zniszczol in seventh and eighth.
Ilmir Hazetdinov achieved a good result for Russia in ninth. Best athlete of the hosting German team was David Siegel in eleventh, close ahead of Thomas Lackner, the best Austrian in this competition.
Poland's Tomasz Pilch, who is competing in the World Cup in Bischofshofen this weekend, still leads the overall ranking with 397 points. Marius Lindvik is second (336 points), Jonathan Learoyd (306 points) follows in third.
