Marius Lindvik of Norway won the first of two Continental Cup competitions in Klingenthal (GER) on Saturday evening.

The 19-year-old laid the foundation for his third win this winter with an outstanding jump of 146 m in the first round, this was only half a meter short of the official hill record held by Michael Uhrmann. In the final Lindvik landed on 133 m and took the win with 271.5 points. "My second jump was not that good, the first one was much better. I'm very happy. The conditions were not easy, but all in all, it was good", said Marius Lindvik.

Only 0.2 points behind the winner, Phillip Aschenwald finished second today. The Austrian showed consistently strong jumps of 134 m and 132 m in, especially in the first round, difficult and changing wind conditions in the Vogtland-Arena. "I'm very satisfied. It was a great competition and I could improve my performance from the trial round to the competition", said the Austrian.

Clearly behind the two best ski jumpers of the day, Jakub Wolny of Poland came in third with 138 m and 128.5 m and a total of 249.6 points. "I think it was not easy today, but the third place is okay. I will fight again tomorrow", said Jakub Wolny.

Nejc Dezman of Slovenia finished second, followed by the second-best Norwegian, Halvor Egner Granerud, in fifth. The two best athletes of the hosting German team were David Siegel and Pius Paschke in sixth and seventh place.

Behind Stefan Huber of Austria (8th), 21-year-old Czech Filip Sakala was ninth and achieved the best result of his career in the Continental Cup. Norway's Robin Pedersen and Stefan Huber's one year older brother Daniel tied for tenth.

With this win, Marius Lindvik now took the lead in the overall ranking of the COC again with 872 points. He is followed by Nejc Dezman (857 points) and David Siegel (839 points).
