COC: Tilen Bartol outstanding

Tilen Bartol of Slovenia was the outstanding ski jumper in the final Continental Cup competition of the summer in Klingenthal (GER).

After he came in a close second on Saturday and was not satisfied with his performance on the first day in the Vogtland-Arena, the 20-year-old had two outstanding jumps on Sunday morning with 146 m and 145 m and took his first win this season with 308.0 points.

Tilen Bartol's teammate Timi Zajc secured the second place and the double victory for the team of Slovenia with his jumps of 138.5 m and 143 m and a total of 289.6 points.

A day after his first win, Norway's Joachim Hauer confirmed his currently great shape with 133.5 m and 137 m (270.3 points) and the third place.

Vincent Descombes Sevoie of France finished fourth, Richard Freitag, who was third after the first round behind Bartol and Zajc, was the best athlete of the German Ski Association in fifth.

The surprise of the day was provided by young Estonian Artti Aigro. The 18-year-old already showed a good performance on Saturday when he was 17th, but he was able to improve this result significantly today and came in sixth. This was his first ever Top 10 result in a COC.

Eetu Nousiainen achieved a top result for Finland in seventh, behind Czech veteran Lukas Hlava (8th) and Klemens Muranka of Poland (9th), Felix Hoffmann was the second German among the best 10 today.

Klemens Muranka won the overall title of the Continental Cup this summer with 700 points. The Pole won two competitions and finished on the podium a total of five times. The second and third place went to Tilen Bartol (627 points) and Pius Paschke (562 points).
