Hinzenbach is ready for the flying ladies

After Sara Takanashi could achieve her 50th World Cup victory on Sunday in Rasnov (ROU) the next event is already prepared to start. In Hinzenbach the Austrian ladies are facing there competitions on home ground. The municipality in the Austrian state of Upper Austria is located 200km in the west of Vienna. The first ski jumps in Hinzenbach have been built already in the 1930s.

Today´s HS 94 hill was opened in 2010. Since 2011 it is hosting the FIS Grand Prix of the men in late September or October. Also in the 2011/12 season the first FIS World Cup Ladies Ski Jumping took place in Hinzenbach. Next weekend is already the 5th World Cup edition. Most successful athletes so far are Sara Takanashi with four and local hero Daniela Iraschko-Stolz with three victories. Olympic champion Carina Voigt of Germany celebrated in 2015 her second and so far last World Cup victory in Hinzenbach.

The preparations for the big event are perfectly in time. Heavy snowfalls in Upper Austria been a big help for the organisers. Apart of the World Cup competitions the local ski club UVB Hinzenbach also prepared a huge entertainment program for the spectators.
