Insam and Seto best in qualification

Local hero Yuka Seto and Evelyn Insam of Italy won the qualification for the first FIS World Cup Ladies Ski Jumping in Sapporo (JPN).
Seto further, Insam with better landing
While Yuka Seto jumped 89,5 meters Insam was half a meter shorter but performed the better landing. Both scored 102,1 points. On third place finished Nita Englund from the United States with 87,0 meters and only 0,3 points behind the winners. Spela Rogelj of Slovenia finished fourth with 100,5 points ahead of Italy’s Manuela Malsiner with 99,1 points.
Wuerth best German
In light snowfall and beautiful winter conditions at the Miyanomori hill Germanys Svenja Wuerth finished sixth ahead of Austria’s Chiara Hoelzl and Lucile Morat of France. Sarah Hendrickson and Juliane Seyfarth completed the top ten.Alexandra Kustova on place 11 and Anastasiya Barannikova on a shared 13th place with Italy’s Elena Runggaldier secured a good team result for Russia.
Ambitious hosts
In between Kaori Iwabuchi on 12th place underlined the Japanese ambitions for the competitions. Canadas Taylor Henrich qualified on 16th place ahead of Norway’s Anniken Mork and Julia Kykkaenen of Finland. Barbora Blazkova of Czech Republic and Romania’s Daniela Haralambie will also fight for points on Saturday after finishing the qualification 28th and 30th. Tara Geraghty-Moats of the USA and Austria’s Eva Pinkelnig missed the qualification.
Lundby top - Takanashi with room for improvement
As for the prequalified ladies Japans Yuki Ito jumped 95,5 meters and outscored her teammate Sara Takanashi by almost ten meters. The longest jump of the day was performed by Norway’s Maren Lundby with 98,0 meters. The first of two single competitions in Sapporo starts on Saturday at 3.00 am (CET).
