Ito wins qualification – Takanashi disqualified

The FIS Grand Prix Ladies Ski Jumping in Frenstad (CZE) has its first big surprise. 53 times World Cup winner Sara Takanashi has been disqualified in the qualification due to an irregular ski length.

Ito on top - Avvakumova runner-up
Beneficiary was team-mate Yuki Ito who came in 1st with 96,0 meters and 105,0 points. 2nd place went to Russias Irina Avvakumova with 94,0 meters and 104,1 points. Norways Maren Lundby finished 3rd with 89,0 meters and 94,2 points.

Seyfarth best German
With Katharina Althaus, winner of last weeks Grand Prix in Courchevel, not taking part Juliane Seyfarth was best German finishing 4th with 89,0 points ahead of Japans Kaori Iwabuchi and Junior World Champion Manuela Malsiner of Italy. On a shared 6th place with Malsiner Germanys Luisa Goerlich qualified for the competition later today. Julia Kykkaenen of Finland, Lucile Morat of France and Russias Anastasiya Barannikova came in 8th, 9th and 10th.Zdenka Pesatova, who just recovered from an ACL rupture, was best of the Czech hosts on 28th place.

The competition starts on Friday at 4.30pm (CET).
