Klemens Muranka takes two wins at COC opener
Aug 31, 2018·Ski Jumping22-year-old Klemens Muranka of Poland was the outstanding athlete in the opening events of this summer's COC in Kranj (SLO).After his first win on Friday evening, he was also clearly the best athlete in Saturday's competition, which was again held under difficult conditions.
Muranka won the second event with jumps of 108,5 and 108.5 m and a total of 253.6 points. Local hero Rok Justin finished second with jumps of 107.5 and 108.5 meters and a total of 242.3 points. The third place went to Kevin Bickner (USA), who scored 238 points with 106 and 115 meters. The two German youngsters Constantin Schmid and Felix Hoffmann came in fourth and fifth.
Timo Zajc, Tilen Bartol, Miran Zupancic und Bor Pavlovcic came in 6th, 7th, 8th and 10th and achieved a strong team result for the Slovenian team. Yuken Iwasa of Japan came in ninth.
The next COC competition will take place on August 18th in Szczyrk (POL).
