Since the glorious large Aschbergschanze was not used anymore, there has been no large hill in Klingenthal and that’s why people started thinking about a reconstruction of the “Großen Asch” in 2000. This efforts were soon given up and now at Schwarzberg in Brunndöbra – a village of Klingenthal – one of the most modern jumps of the world was built for 14 Mio. €.

In fall 2005 the new skiing arena with 30,000 seats has been made ready to jump and Björn Kircheisen landed the first jump at 128 m. The first official competition on the new jump was a Nordic combined World Cup “B” in early 2006.

But Vogtland-Arena not only serves as a ski jumping hill, cultural events and concerts shall take place there, too.
