Lundby back on top
Aug 31, 2018·Ski JumpingMaren Lundby took the win in the Individual competition of the flying ladies in Hinterzarten. With the longest jump of the day to 105,0 meters and 102,0 meters in the final round Lundby scored 269,1 points and won ahead of local hero Katharina Althaus and Sara Takanashi of Japan.

Lundby was nervous**
Lundby said afterwards: “It was a really good competition today. I was nervous since the morning and didn’t talk to anyone. My shape is really good and it is something special to beat Katharina in Germany.” Katharina Althaus jumped 102,5 and 99,0 meters and got 254,7 points. Althaus said: 5,9 points behind Althaus Sara Takanashi finished third after jumps to 98,0 and 100,0 meter.
Takanashi improving
The Japanese said: “I am very happy to be on the podium. My jumps are getting better with every competition but I still have some work to do to get in my best shape.” On fourth place Germany´s Ramona Straub celebrated her best World Cup result and missed the podium by only 0,2 points after jumps to 101,5 and 97,5 meters. Yuki Ito of Japan came in 5th with 239,9 points, 1,2 points ahead of World Champion Carina Vogt.
Hoelzl best Austrian
Chiara Hoelzl of Austria came in 6th ahead of the fourth German in the top ten, Juliane Seyfarth. Kaori Iwabuchi finished 9th, Ema Klinec was best Slovenian on 10th place ahead of team-mate Ursa Bogataj and Irina Avvakumova of Russia. Manuela Malsiner was best Italian athlete on 14th place, Lucile Morat and Julia Clair came in 17th and 18th for France. Julia Kykkaenen scored points for Finland on 24th place, Daniela Haralambie came in 29th for Romania and Xinyue Chang secured one World Cup point for China on 30th place.
Lundby and Althaus on top
In the overall world Cup Katharina Althaus and Maren Lundby are sharing the 1st place through the Christmas break with 360 points each. Sara Takanashi is 3rd with 220 points. The next stage of the FIS World Cup Ladies Ski Jumping will be Rasnov (ROU) from January 5th till 7th 2018.
