Lundby wins first qualification of the season

Local hero Maren Lundby won the first qualification of the new season in the FIS World Cup Ladies Ski Jumping. With 93,5 meters and 126,1 points Lundby staid in Lillehammer ahead of Sara Takanashi and Yuki Ito of Japan.

World Cup overall winner Takanashi performed 92,5 meters and got 123,5 points. Her teammate Yuki Ito landed after 89,5 meters and made 117,7 points.Lundby said after the qualification: „It was a good day for me, even though there still is some room for improvement.“

Vogt in good shape - strong French team
World Champion Carina Vogt finished on a very good 4th place, only three months after her knee injury. Right behind her fellow German Svenja Wuerth came in 5th ahead of Lucile Morat of France and Italy’s Lara Malsiner. 8th place went to Gianina Ernst of Germany ahead of Lea Lemare and Julia Clair, who completed a great French result.

Spela Rogelj was best Slovenian athlete on 11th place, Irina Avvakumova came in 14th for Russia. While Daniela Iraschko-Stolz is still in recovery after her latest injury, Chiara Hoelzl finished 21st for Austria. Nicole Maurer of Canada qualified on 24th place, Nina Lussi came in 29 for the United States ahead of teammate Nita Englund and Daniela Haralambie of Romania. Xinyue  Chang jumped into the first of three competitions in Lillehammer on 37th place ahead of Finland´s Julia Kykkaenen.

The first Individual competition in Lillehammer starts on Friday, 16.00 (CET).
