Canada's Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes was not able to compete in the Ski Flying event in Vikersund due to a sickness.

"Mackenzie came back from the hospital, the tests were better, but not perfect. From our side, it looks like he had pneumonia during the season which wasn't treated appropriately, but this is just our guessing", his coach Bine Norcic told FIS Ski Jumping.

"I wanted to compete in Vikersund but I had some sudden bad feeling after the flight here. The doctors said just to be on the safe side it would be better not to jump. I will rest this weekend and hope to be ready for the finale in Planica", said the 26-year-old from Calgary, who achieved his best result in the World Cup when he was ninth in a Ski Flying competition in Bad Mitterndorf 2014.

Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes will travel to Slovenia where he will undergo further checks.
