Sara Takanashi remains unbeatable

Sara Takanashi also won the second competition of the FIS Grand Prix in Frenstat (CZE). After her win on Friday, the Japanese was again unbeatable on Saturday. For the 21-year-old, this was already the 23rd win in a Grand Prix. Yuki Ito (JPN) and Maren Lundby of Norway followed in second and third.

Takanashi jumped on 98 m and 102.5 m and with a total of 253.1 points, she had a lead of eight points over her teammate Yuki Ito. "I'm happy with the result. It was a nice weekend for me here in Frenstat. I don't think that the wind conditions were difficult today", Takanashi said after her win.

Ito, who could win a competition here last year, scored 2451. points with her jumps of 95.5 m and 100 m. Olympic champion Maren Lundby of Norway (97 m and 98 m) finished third. Ito was satisfied with her second place: "I'm satisfied with my jumps today. Yesterday I made a big mistake in the second round, today I did better. Now I will go back to Japan to train and I will not compete in the Grand Prix again this summer."

6.6 points behind Lundby, Juliane Seyfarth was the best German in fourth, Katharina Althaus was sixth, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger was the best Austrian in fifth.

Like already on the day before, Slovenia's Spela Rogelj showed a strong performance. She posted the longest jump of the day with 103 m in the first round and was again the best Slovene, even if only one place ahead of her teammate Jerneja Brecl, who came in on a career-best eighth place.

Xinyue Chang of China jumped very well again and finished eleventh, her teammate Xueyao Li was 31st and closely missed the final round.

Sara Takanashi now leads the overall ranking of the Grand Prix with the maximum of 400 points.

The Ladies Grand Prix continues on September 9th in Chaikovsky (RUS), where also the men will be competing.
