Slovenia is ready for the flying ladies

While the season of the FIS World Cup Ladies Ski Jumping is slowly reaching its boiling point, the flying ladies are still facing two more World Cup stages before the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Lahti. Next weekend it´s Ljubno (SLO). The HS 95 hill, „Logarska Dolina“ was built in 1952, initially as a 60 meter hill. Several rebuilds later nowadays hill size was reached. Of course, Ljubno is not Planica.

"Little Planica" with great atmosphere
It is located 60 kilometres in the south east of the flying hills. But still, the Slovenian fans know how to create a unique atmosphere. The ladies can look forward to thousands of cheerful spectators. Last year local hero Maja Vtic made the crowd go wild with the first ever Slovenian World Cup victory in Ljubno.

Legends took the victories
Before her Sarah Hendrickson, Sara Takanashi and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz where the winners in Ljubno. Ladies’ Ski Jumping legends like Annette Sagen, Lindsay Van and Ulrike Gräßler took the victories in the old Continentalcup times.

Klinec coming home with medals
This time the Slovenian hopes might be focussed on Ema Klinec. The 18-year old just got back from the Junior World Championships in Park City (USA) with three medals. 2nd in the Individual competition, silver also in the Ladies´ team event. And the World Champion title in the mixed team competition together with Nika Kriznar, who will also be on the Slovenian team in Ljubno. It might get loud in Slovenia.
