The ski jumpers crowned the first winner of the 2018 summer season: Kilian Peier of Switzerland showed a convincing performance in the first FIS Continental Cup competition this summer in Kranj (SLO) with jumps of 103 m and 105 m (277.6 points).

Peier came in close ahead of Russia's Evgeniy Klimov, who was in the lead after the first round.

For the 23-year-old this was the first win in the Continental Cup, so far a third place last winter in Engelberg (SLO) was the best result for the Swiss.

For Klimov, who jumped on 107.5 m and 104.5 m (275.5 points) and the team of Russia, this was the first top result under the new coach Evgeniy Plekhov. A great start for Plekhov, who became the head coach of the Russian team after the last winter season.

In difficult wind conditions on the HS 109 Bauhenk-hill in Kranj, Germany's Felix Hoffmann finished third. He earned his place on the podium with a total of 262.6 points and jumps of 100 m and 101.5 m.

Stefan Huber was the best Austrian in fourth, followed by the two Slovenes Anze Semenic and Tomaz Naglic. Best Japanese was Yukiya Sato in seventh. Andreas Wank finished eighth. David Siegel moved up from 20th after the first round to ninth overall with a jump of 106 m in the second round.
