Takanashi best in qualification

Sara Takanashi won the qualification for the first Individual competition of the FIS World Cup Ladies Ski Jumping in Sapporo (JPN).

With 95,0 meters and 126,3 points, the local hero stayed ahead of Katharina Althaus and Maren Lundby. Althaus jumped 93,0 meters and 123,2 points. Maren Lundby got 94,0 meters and 121,6 points.

Hoelzl best Austrian
Chiara Hoelzl of Austria came in 4th with 114,5 points ahead of Kaori Iwabuchi and Yuki Ito. Germany´s Ramona Straub finished 7th.

Chinese surprise
On the 8th place Xinyue Chang of China made a surprising appearance. Places 9 and 10 went to Slovenia´s Ursa Bogataj and World Champion Carina Vogt. Irina Avvakumova came in 11th in close to perfect conditions at the Miyanomori hill, Lara Malsiner was best of the Italian team on 14th place.

Kykkaenen and Henrich qualified
Julia Kykkaenen of Finland qualified on 23rd position, Taylor Henrich will compete for Canada, after coming in 24th ahead of Daniela Haralambie of Romania. Tara Geraghty-Moats and Abby Ringquist finished 38th and 39th for the USA.

The first competition in Sapporo will start on Saturday at 3.00 am (CET).
