Thomas Diethart suffered a bad crash

Austria's Thomas Diethart had a bad crash during a training camp in Ramsau am Dachstein (AUT) on Wednesday. He lost control shortly after the take-off and crashed on the knoll.
The 25-year-old had lost consciousness for a short time right after the crash and is currently in intensive care in the hospital in Schladming. His condition is not considered serious.
In first medical tests, a severe concussion with minor hemorrhage, a lung contusion as well as severe abrasions and a laceration on the face were diagnosed. The 2014 4-Hills-Tournament winner didn't suffer any fractures.
Thomas Diethart is fully responsive but will remain in intensive care until at least tomorrow. Further medical tests will also be conducted on Thursday.

After the tests on Thursday, Dr. Christian Kaulfersch spoke about the current state of health of Thomas Diethart: "The condition of Thomas Diethart remains stable and there's already some improvement. The first 24 hours after such an accident are always critical and Thomas did well. The medical check-ups, including a CT and ultrasound, showed that the contusions and the hemorrhage are regressing. The most important thing now is that Thomas gets a lot of rest, so he can recover. That's why he will remain in the hospital for a couple of more days."
