Piotr Zyla and Kamil Stoch of Poland tied for first in the FIS Grand Prix competition in Einsiedeln on Saturday evening. Zyla with jumps of 115 m and 112,5 meters (267,3 points) and Stoch (POL) with 114.5 and 112.5 meters (267.3 points). Joining them today on the podium in third place was Evgeniy Klimov (RUS) with jumps of 113 m and 116.5 meters (266.9 points).

Weather conditions although difficult for the trial round did not hinder the competition. The large crowd, including a large contingent of Polish fans, that gathered at the HS 117 Andreas Kuettel Jumping Hill here in Einsiedeln enjoyed a day of excellent competition.

Once again Poland dominated the event with 5 athletes placed in the top 10, including 4 in the top 5. Stefan Hula was ninth, Dawid Kubacki fifth, Jakub Wolny fourth, Stoch and Zyla joint first. Poland is definitely the team to beat as the summer competitions move on.

Switzerland's Killian Peier couldn´t repeat his podium finish from Hinterzarten, but after a disappointing jump in the first round he jumped on 110.5 meters in the second round resulting in a respectable place 11, Gregor Deschwanden placed 14th, and Simon Ammann 23rd.

Stefan Kraft achieved a Top 10 finish for Austria in seventh, Andreas Kofler came in among the Top 15 in 13th, Gregor Schlierenzauer was 18th, Daniel Huber 19th, Michael Hayboeck 20th, Clemens Aigner 21st, and Stefan Huber 25th.

In absence of Karl Geiger and Markus Eisenbichler, Andreas Wank was the best German today with two solid jumps and the eighth place. Andreas Wellinger came in 22nd.

After a weekend of exciting competition at the 12th Summer Grand Prix in Einsiedeln, we look forward to the next round coming up from the 10th – 11th August in Courchevel (FRA).

Statements of the Top 3:

Kamil Stoch (POL): This weekend was really hard because it was very warm and so it wasn't easy to keep your energy levels up all the time when wearing the jumping suit. I'm happy with the result because my jumps were not perfect. I'm still looking to improve and to jump better. It was really nice here with all the fans, the audience was great. I was positively surprised that so many Polish fans came here to support us and I want to thank them.

Piotr Zyla (POL): I feel very good. I was jumping really well all weekend and I also enjoyed jumping here. There were many Polish fans here and it's great fun to jump in front of them.

Evgeniy Klimov (RUS): I'm satisfied with the competition and I enjoy jumping on this hill. Now I'm looking forward to the competition in Courchevel and I hope that I can achieve a similar result there.
