Universiade: Japan and Russia take team gold
Aug 31, 2018·Ski JumpingThree Ski Jumping team competitions (ladies, men, mixed) were held this weekend at the Winter Universiade in Almaty (KAZ).
Like in the two individual events earlier this week the win in the mixed team competition went to Japan as well. The two individual gold medalists, Naoki Nakamura and Haruka Iwasa, took their next gold on Saturday with 445.1 points. The Czech Republic, with Cestmir Kozisek and Marta Krepelkova, came in second with 434.9 points. Bronze went to Team Japan II with Max Koga and Yuka Kobayashi (430.6 points).
In the men's team competition on Sunday, Russia (Aleksandr Bazhenov, Roman Trofimov, Mikhail Maksimochkin) scored a total of 789.9 points and won gold ahead of Slovenia (Anze Lavtizar, Andraz Modic, Aljaz Vodan; 783.8 points) and Poland (Krzyzstof Mietus, Stanislaw Biela, Przemyslaw Kantyka; 761.8 points).
Also on Sunday, Haruka Iwasa took her third gold medal for Japan together with her teammate Yuka Kobayashi. With their total of 432.8 points, they finished almost 100 points ahead of the Czech Republic (Karolina Indrackova, Marta Krepelkova; 344.4 points). Russia (Stefaniya Nadymova, Alena Sutiagina; 307.8 points) won bronze.
