Wuerth on top in Zao qualification

Svenja Wuerth of Germany won the qualification for the first individual competition of the FIS World Cup Ladies Ski Jumping in Zao (JPN). Wuerth performed a jump to 97,0 meters and got 108,0 points. That gave her an advantage of 0,5 points to Austria´s Chiara Hoelzl, who jumped 98,0 meters and finished second.

Hendrickson close to the top
Third place went to Sarah Hendrickson of the United States with 96,5 meters and 104,4 points. Only 0,3 points behind her Japan´s Yuka Seto finished fourth ahead of Juliane Seyfarth of Germany. In light snow fall the two Slovenians Eva Logar and Spela Rogelj came in sixth and seventh, Italy’s Evelyn Insam finished on eighth place, Julia Kykkaenen of Finland came in ninth.

Barannikova in top ten
Russia´s Anastasiya Barannikova completed the top ten of the qualification. Kaori Iwabuchi of Japan just missed out on the best ten and finished 11th ahead of Abby Ringquist of the United States and Italy’s Elena Runggaldier. Behind Nika Kriznar of Slovenia the two Russians Ksenia Kabulkova and Sofya Tikhonova came in on 15th and 16th place. Lea Lemare was the best French athlete on 18th place. Also qualified for tomorrow’s competition are Norway´s Anniken Mork and Canada´s Taylor Henrich on 22 and 24. Daniela Haralambie of Romania jumped on the 28th place into the competition.

Takanashi far ahead
Out of the pre-qualified jumpers Sara Takanashi showed an outstanding performance to 103,0 meters. Teammate Yuki Ito came the closest with 98,0 meters. The competition on Friday will start at 9.00 am (CET).
