After the young German Selina Freitag could take her first ever win in the Continental Cup on Friday in Notodden, the same was achieved by Austria's Claudia Purker on Saturday.

The 19-year-old, who already showed a strong performance in this weekend's first competition when she was fourth, jumped on 92.5 m and 88 m and scored 226.0 points. This earned her the first podium finish of her career in the COC, and that with a win. "As always, it's a pleasure to jump in Notodden. The conditions are always great and the organizers did a great job", praised the winner.

Only 16-year-old Russian Anna Shpyneva took the second place on the HS 98 Tveitanbakken with 91.5 m and 88m and 221.5 points. "I am really happy about my performance. I couldn't jump for the last two days because my skis were lost at the airport", said the Russian.

Agnes Reisch of Germany, who was already third behind Purker and Shpyneva after the first round, defend this position in the final with her total of 210.0 points (88.5 m and 86.5 m). "I am happy about the result and my jumps. I hope that the next competition will just as well or even better."

The winner of the first competition, Selina Freitag, closely missed the podium in fourth this time, but she will still be very satisfied with the weekend in Norway. Elisabeth Raudaschl of Austria came in right behind Freitag again and was fifth.

Karoline Roestad was the best of the hosting team in sixth, Jenny Rautionaho of Finland was seventh, followed by the third-placed jumper of yesterday's event, Guylim Park. With Julia Huber (9th) and Alina Ihle (10th), one more athlete of Austria and Germany finished in the Top 10.

Selina Freitag and Claudia Purker now share the overall lead after the first weekend of the Continental Cup with 150 points, Elisabeth Raudaschl is third with 125 points.

The Ladies' COC continues on January 19th and 20th with two competitions in Planica (SLO).
