Local hero Pauline Hessler took the win in the first ladies' competition of the Continental Cup in Brotterode (GER).

The 20-year-old jumped on 102 m and 102.5 m and claimed her first ever win in the Continental Cup with 222.9 points. So far the second place in Notodden (NOR) in December 2015 has been her best result in the Continental Cup.

The second place on the HS 117 went to Kamila Karpiel of Poland (100.5 m and 104.5 m) and Austria's Marita Kramer (104.5 m and 104.5 m), who both scored 216.6 points.

Next to Marita Kramer, Sophie Sorschag in fourth and Julia Huber in seventh provided a good team result for the Austrians. With Agnes Reisch in fifth and Josephin Laue in tenth, two more German athletes came in among the best in today's competition.

The Top 10 were completed by Kinga Rajda of Poland (6th), Pia Mazi of Slovenia (8th) and Norway's Karoline Roestad (9th).

Katra Komar would have clearly won this competition, but the 17-year-old Slovene was disqualified after the second round because her suit was not compliant to the rules.

Slovenia's Jerneja Brecl leads the overall ranking with 200 points, followed by Kamila Karpiel (189 points) and Elisabeth Raudaschl (177 points).

The second competition in Brotterode starts on Sunday at 10 am CET.
