At the Ladies' Continental Cup in Planica (SLO) the hosting team could celebrate a 1-2 finish in the first competition of the weekend on Saturday.

Jerneja Brecl took the win on the HS 102 normal hill with jumps of 91.5 m and 87.5 m and 204.6 points. With this performance, the 17-year-old claimed her first ever win in the COC in front of her home crowd. So far the second place in Brotterode 2018 was her best result. "The wind was changing a bit, but when you are jumping well that doesn't matter that much. Tomorrow I want to show even better jumps, we'll see how it goes", told the winner.

Brecl's teammate Katra Komar came in second with 88.5 m and 87 m and 201.7 points, she has also never achieved such a good result in the Continental Cup before. "I felt really good. The hill was well prepared and so it was a pleasure to jump. Having a home competition means a lot. Tomorrow I want to do better at the take-off and fly further", said Komar.

In her very first appearance in the COC, Sophie Sorschag made it to the podium. The 20-year-old Austrian finished third with 87 m and 88.5 m and 199.6 points. Of course, she was very satisfied with this performance: "This was my first competition in the Continental Cup and it was really great. The jumps were also great, therefore I’m simply happy."
