COC-M: Aleksander Zniszczol makes it three in a row

The 2018/19 season of the Continental Cup ended with the second competition in Chaikovsky (RUS) on Sunday. And like on the day before, the Polish team could claim a 1-2 finish also in this season's final event, which was held on the large hill.

Aleksander Zniszczol repeated his win form Saturday with jumps of 138 m and 133.5 m and 274.6 points. With this performance, he stood on top of the podium for the third time in a row. Andrzej Stekala, who was in the lead after the first round today, could also post strong jumps and finished second again with 138.5 m and 132.5 m and 269.9 points.

Just like on Saturday, a Norwegian shared the podium with the two athletes of Poland. On Sunday it was Fredrik Villumstad, who was disqualified yesterday and came in third this time with 139.5 m and 128.5 m and a total of 263.6 points.

Austria's Ulrich Wohlgenannt was fourth, followed by the third-placed athlete on Saturday, Andreas Granerud Buskum of Norway (5th) and his teammate Maximilian Steiner (6th). Best athlete of the Russian hosts was Roman Trofimov in seventh.

Behind Viktor Polasek of the Czech Republic (8th), veteran Andreas Wank was the best German in ninth, closely followed by Justin Lisso and Moritz Baer in tenth and eleventh.

Austria's Clemens Aigner won the overall title of the 2018/19 Continental Cup after 28 competitions with 977 points. The second and third place go to Aleksander Zniszczol (895 points) and Marius Lindvik of Norway (863 points).
