COC-M: Tilen Bartol and Moritz Baer win in Klingenthal

Because the first competition of the Continental Cup in Klingenthal (GER) could not take place on Saturday due to the difficult weather conditions, two events were held in the Vogtland-Arena on Sunday.
In the first competition of the day, the victory went to Slovenia's Tilen Bartol, who stood on top of the podium in the COC for the fifth time with his jumps of 137.5 m and 131 m and 233.8 points.
Andreas Granerud Buskum of Norway came in second with 132 m and 127.5 m and 220.8 points. For the 22-year-old, this was a career-best result in the Continental Cup.
Marius Lindvik of Norway (129 m and 130 m) and Germany's Pius Paschke (125.5 m and 130.5 m) tied for third with 218.9 points.
Shohei Tochimoto posted the best jump in the final round with 130.5 m and moved up from 17th to fifth. The Japanese missed the podium by only 0.9 points. Sandro Hauswirth of Switzerland finished sixth and showed his best performance so far in the Continental Cup.
In his first appearance in the COC in almost ten years, Severin Freund was seventh, right behind the 2015 World Champion, Kilian Maerkl, Moritz Baer, Luca Roth and Martin Hamann came in on the places eight to eleven and completed the strong team performances of the Germans.
The second competition was held after only a short break and was decided after one round only. For Moritz Baer, the long day in Klingenthal ended with his first ever win in the Continental Cup. The 21-year-old showed a jump of 137.5 m and scored 118.7 points.
Only 17-year-old Slovene Zak Mogel, who clearly failed to make the cut for the final round in 47th in the first competition, had the longest jump in this event with 139.5 m and finished second with 117.1 points.
Marius Lindvik made the podium again and repeated his third place with 131 m and 116.5 points.
For 18-year-old Kilian Maerkl of Germany, the eighth place earlier was already a career-best, and he was able to improve that again with his fourth place in the second competition. With Luca Roth and Pius Paschke in sixth and ninth, two more athletes of the German Ski Association finished in the Top 10.
Filip Sakala of the Czech Republic (5th) and Estonia's Artti Aigro (7th) could achieve a top result, just like Shohei Tochimoto in eighth. Andreas Granerud Buskum came in tenth this time.
Marius Lindvik leads the overall ranking of the COC with now 365 points. Robin Pedersen (275 points) and Markus Schiffner (242 points) follow in second and third, both are competing in the World Cup in Bischofshofen, where the Continental Cup will continue next weekend.
