COC-M: Bor Pavlovic claims the home win

The ski jumpers are in the Slovenian "valley of the hills" in Planica this weekend, but not for an event on the huge flying hill, but for two Continental Cup competitions on the HS 142 large hill.
And right in the first competition of the weekend, the hosts could celebrate a strong result. The victory went to local hero Bor Pavlovcic, who posted the longest jumps in both rounds with 135.5 m and 138.5 m and stood on top of the podium in the COC for the second time in his career with 274.4 points. The 20-year-old, who is representing the club Nd Ratece Planica, took his first win in February 2017 also on his home hill.
Andreas Granerud Buskum of Norway was fourth after the first round with 128 m, in the final he then jumped on the same distance as Pavovcic with 138.5 m and secured the second place with his total of 265.7 points.
The third place also went to Slovenia. After 133.5 m in the first round, Jurij Tepes moved up from sixth to third with his second jump of 136 m. He came in only 0.3 points behind the second-placed Norwegian.
Martin Hamann of Germany came in fourth, followed by Aleksander Zniszczol of Poland and Austria's Ulrich Wohlgenannt, who was sixth and still only 1.5 points behind Jurij Tepes.
The top result of the Slovenes was completed by Andraz Pograjc in seventh and Rok Justin, Jaka Hvala and Nejc Dezman in ninth, tenth and eleventh. Tomas Vancura of the Czech Republic was eighth, his teammate Lukas Hlava was second at half-time and finished 12th overall.
Clemens Aigner leads the overall ranking of the Continental Cup with 513 points, ahead of Robin Pedersen (437 points) and Marius Lindvik (365 points). All three are currently participating in the World Cup in Sapporo.
The second competition in Planica starts on Sunday at 12:15 pm CET.
