In the second competition of the Continental Cup in Brotterode (GER) on Sunday afternoon, Marius Lindvik of Norway was able to end the winning streak of Austria's Clemens Aigner.

Marius Lindvik, with 116 m fifth after the first round, showed the best jump in the final with 115 m and moved up to the top with his 278.2 points. This was the eighth win in the Continental Cup for the 20-year-old, the fourth this season.

Clemens Aigner, who won the last three competitions, was also leading after the first half of this event with 114.5 m, but 112.5 m in the second round were then only enough for the second place for him with 275.9 points.

Only 0.3 points behind the Austrian, Zak Mogel of Slovenia, only 17th on Saturday, finished third with 115 m and 118 m and a total of 275.6 points.

Best German athlete on Sunday was Pius Paschke in fourth, behind him, Keiichi Sato of Japan could repeat his very good fifth place from yesterday and so he equaled his career-best result in the COC.

Not only today's winner Marius Lindvik showed convincing performance for the Norwegian team, but also Andreas Granerud Buskum and Fredrik Villumstad were strong today in sixth and ninth. For the first time in his career, 19-year-old Fredrik Villumstad finished in the Top 10, that were completed by Austrian Markus Schiffner (7th), Slovenia's Andraz Pograjc (8th) and Moritz Baer of Germany (10th).

Clemens Aigner remains in the lead of the overall ranking with his 893 points, followed by Pius Paschke (715 points) and Marius Lindvik (633 points).

The Continental Cup continues next weekend with two competitions in Rena (NOR).
