Two weeks after the last two competitions in Rena (NOR), the Continental Cup continues this weekend on the famous Wielka Krokiew hill in the Polish Ski Jumping center of Zakopane.

In difficult and changing wind conditions, that also lead to various interruptions, Austria's Stefan Huber was able to take a clear win. The 25-year-old laid the foundation for this first win this winter with the longest jump of the day of 141.5 m in the first round. With 134.5 m he was then also the best in the final and secured the top spot with 261.0 points.

Bor Pavlovcic of Slovenia, who won late January on his home hill in Planica, came in second on early Saturday afternoon with jumps of 138 m and 133 m and 246.8 points.

Germany's Felix Hoffmann finished third with 129 m and 127.5 m and 236.0 points on the HS 140. This was already the fifth podium finish this season for the 21-year-old.

Local hero Maciej Kot missed the Top 3 only by a tiny margin. The Pole was eleventh at halftime and moved up to fourth overall with a strong second jump. He came in only 0.1 points behind Hoffmann.

Czech veteran Lukas Hlava finished fifth, followed by the second-best German today, Andreas Wank. The two Austrians Maximilian Steiner and Ulrich Wohlgenannt were seventh and eighth.

Rok Justin of Slovenia moved up from 16th to ninth in the final round, the tenth place went to Filip Sakala of the Czech Republic.

Clemens Aigner remains in the lead of the overall ranking of the Continental Cup with 977 points. Marius Lindvik (863 points) and Robin Pedersen (754 points) are second and third.

The second competition in Zakopane starts on Sunday at 12 pm CET.
