Stefan Kraft won the qualification for the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Trondheim with an outstanding jump of 135.5 m (138.5 points) and also took the lead in the overall ranking of the Raw Air Tournament. Kraft came in 18.3 points ahead of the former overall leader Robert Johansson (128 m; 120.3 points) and now has a lead of 5.3 points over the Norwegian. The second and third place in Wednesday's qualification went to Ryoyu Kobayashi and Dawid Kubacki.

Not even 24 hours after his win in the competition in Lillehammer, Stefan Kraft posted the best jump in the qualification and is now also the overall leader of the Raw Air series. "After three meters I realized that this was a great jump, then I just wanted to enjoy it. Hopefully, it will go that well again tomorrow", Kraft said after his jump.

Slovenia's Timi Zajc was fourth in the qualification, Johann Andre Forfang followed in fifth. In good conditions, former Raw Air leader Robert Johansson was eighth with his jump of 128 m (120.3 points).

Best German in the qualification in Trondheim was Markus Eisenbichler in ninth, Constantin Schmid came in on a convincing tenth place, Richard Freitag joined the team in Trondheim after suffering from the flu and finished on a good 13th place.

Stefan Kraft now leads the overall ranking of the Raw Air with 1075.9 points, followed by Robert Johansson (1070.6 points) and Ryoyu Kobayashi (1048.5 points).

The men's competition in Trondheim starts on Thursday at 5 pm CET. On the same evening, the teams will take a charter plane to Vikersund, where the final of the 3rd Raw Air will take place this weekend with the qualification on Friday and two competitions (Saturday team, Sunday individual).
