Juliane Seyfarth and Maren Lundby strong in training

It was a relaxed training day for the world's best female ski jumpers on Friday in Rasnov (ROU). The originally planned qualification for the FIS World Cup on Saturday was canceled due to the low number of participants of only 42 and a third training round was held instead. So the ladies could start the weekend in Romania with any pressure at all.

Juliane Seyfarth did especially well in the training on the HS 97 Trambulină Valea Cărbunării hill in Rasnov. With her second jump of 97 m, the 28-year-old who lives and trains in Oberstdorf proved that she has to be reckoned with on the upcoming weekend. Seyfarth showed convincing performances during the course of this winter and next to Katharina Althaus, Carina Vogt and Ramona Straub she is an important part of the German team.

Besides Seyfarth, Maren Lundby (NOR), Sara Takanashi (JPN) and Austria's Daniela Iraschko-Stolz left the strongest impression. Overall World Cup leader Katharina Althaus jumped on 88 m and 93.5 m and skipped the third round. Austrian Eva Pinkelnig had a similar plan. She also didn't take part in the third training round after a strong second jump.

The first competition of the Ladies World Cup in Rasnov starts on Saturday at 12:30 pm CET, the second event follows on Sunday at 12:30 pm CET.
