Olympic champion Maren Lundby won the fourth World Cup event in a row. With an outstanding performance, the Norwegian took the win on the HS 90 hill in Hinzenbach on Saturday with two jumps of 86 m. The two Germans Juliane Seyfarth (84.5 m and 79 m) and Katharina Althaus (81.5 m and 79 m) came in second and third.

With her win today, Maren Lundby prolonged her winning streak to four in a row, it was her 18th win in the World Cup. Lundby had the longest jump and the best score in both rounds. "I'm very happy about my first win here in Hinzenbach. It's good to be on the podium in the country where the World Championships start soon. My jumps are getting better and better and I hope that it will continue like that in the upcoming weeks", Lundby explained after her triumph.

The great winter continued for Juliane Seyfarth with her second place today. She is third in the overall World Cup and one of the top favorites in the events now. "I'm very satisfied with the result today, especially because my jumps were a lot better than yesterday. But I'm still late at the take-off too often. I'm sure that I can be even better in all the competitions when I can correct this mistake", said Juliane Seyfarth.

Katharina Althaus summed up the competition after finishing third: "It was not easy today, but my jumps were pretty good. And I'm happy that I can be on the podium together with my roommate. I hope for a good and fair competition tomorrow and that I can show two good jumps again."

Sara Takanashi was fourth with 83.5 m and 79 m, followed by 18-year-old Slovene Nika Kriznar, who is slowly but surely establishing herself among the world's elite.

Once again the German team achieved an outstanding team result with two podium finishes, Carina Vogt in sixth and Ramona Straub in 13th. Anna Rupprecht came in on a strong 16th place. Svenja Wuerth had a successful comeback in the World Cup after her long break due to an injury with the 19th place. Wuerth scored her first World Cup points since December 2017 today. Three weeks before the start of the Nordic World Ski Championships in Seefeld, the German team is the top favorite for the ladies' team competition, which was included in the program of the WSC just a week ago.

Russia's Lidiia Iakovleva, who won in Lillehammer this season, confirmed her strong shape in seventh, Chiara Hoelzl was the best Austrian in tenth. Daniela Iraschko-Stolz failed to qualify for this competition on Friday.

Maren Lundby leads the overall World Cup with 888 points, followed by Katharina Althaus (808 points) and Juliane Seyfarth (591 points).

The second competition in Hinzenbach starts on Sunday at 2:15 pm CET.
