Maren Lundby takes this season's final quali-win

Norway's Maren Lundby won the qualification for the FIS Ladies' Ski Jumping World Cup in Chaikovsky (RUS) with 92.5 m and 107.9 points ahead of Eva Pinkelnig (93 m; 106.3 points) and Chiara Hoelzl (92.5 m; 104.8 points).

Friday's qualification on the HS 102 in Chaikovsky was the final one for the ladies this season. The best 40 athletes qualified for the competition on Saturday, the season final with the Top 30 will be held on the HS 140 large hill in Chaikovsky on Sunday.

With today's win, Maren Lundby of Norway once again underlined her outstanding position this winter. The 24-year-old has already claimed the overall World Cup title, won gold at the World Championships in Seefeld, took the Raw Air overall title and with it the record prize money of € 30 000.-. Now it's all about winning the remaining competitions and the overall win of the Blue Bird Tour for Lundby. After two of four competitions, Lundby is currently second in the overall ranking behind Juliane Seyfarth, who won twice in Nizhny Tagil.

Today Lundby proved that she will still give her all in trying to close to 16.3 point-gap to Juliane Seyfarth.
Juliane Seyfarth posted the longest jump today with 93.5 m and came in sixth. The 29-year-old will definitely not give up the fight for the first ever Blue Bird overall title easily.

The athletes of Slovenia showed a strong team performance with Ursa Bogataj in fourth, Nika Kriznar in seventh and Spela Rogelj in eighth. Katharina Althaus was ninth.

Saturday's competition in Chaikovsky starts at 10 am CET.
