Maren Lundby is close to winning the first edition of the Ladies' Raw Air. With her win in today's qualification for the FIS Ladies' Ski Jumping World Cup on Thursday, the overall title is within reach for the 24-year-old Norwegian. The second and third place in the qualification went to Eva Pinkelnig of Austria and Japanese Yuki Ito.

Maren Lundby jumped on 128.5 m on late Wednesday evening on the HS 138 hill in Trondheim and the overall World Cup leader scored 125.5 points. Eva Pinkelnig was second with 123.4 points, Yuki Ito scored 118.6 points with her 127 m jump.

Best German was Juliane Seyfarth in fourth, followed by Katharina Althaus in fifth. Finland's Susanna Forsstroem provided a moment of shock. The 23-year-old from Lahti had a spectacular crash but didn't suffer any serious injuries.

The third and final competition of the Ladies' Raw Air in Trondheim will take place on Thursday. With a lead of 26.8 points over Katharina Althaus, Maren Lundby can't make a huge mistake tomorrow, but under normal circumstances, the Olympic champion will claim the prize money of € 35 000,-. Lundby is in an outstanding shape right now and all she has to do is show two solid jumps to win the title.

The ladies' competition on Thursday starts at 2 pm CET.
